My Story
I figure I'll just write this as a pseudo journal entry on my life. I was born in Albany, New York to my parents Barry and Diane. Both were college professors and because of that I spent a lot of my early years travelling with them as they taught around the world. After returning back to the states - Joppa, Maryland and then York, Pennsylvania was where I called home. I'll skip all the small details of school and my hopes and dreams and all that. Basically I went to school like everyone else and then immediately upon graduating I joined the Marine Corps reserve where I had enlisted as a Field Radio Operator. Once I got back from all my training I began attending Towson University where I initially majored in Computer Science. Pretty quickly I realized that I was unhappy with my choice and felt lost. It was during Russian class of all places that I met someone who studied film. I had always had an affinity for movies but never saw it as a viable career path. She proved that my prior bias was incorrect. I switched majors soon after. While in the middle of school I was activated and deployed as a part of a small contingent to the Republic of Georgia. Shout out 2nd Battalion 25th Marines. Upon returning home I continued with my schooling, really diving into it. I directed a handful of shorts, found out I had a knack for that as well as lighting, and was having a blast doing it. I got my first real camera, a Fuji XT-4 for a real estate photography job I had for a little bit. Wasn't a big fan of that as it felt soulless. But it did spawn my love for taking pictures. It helps me stop and find beauty in the world in places that people wouldn't otherwise give a second thought. My contract with the Marines ended in 2020 and while I wouldn't trade that time for the world I don't know if I would want to do it again (my knees can't handle that abuse). Now I'm here, and after graduating I've continued to work and thrive in this field that I never expected to be a part of and I don't regret it in the slightest.
